Facussa (Cucumis melo L.) is a historic variety of melon native to Tabarca, Tunisia, whose name comes from the Arabic *"faguss"*, which means cucumber. Imported to the island of San Pietro around 1738, today it is also widely cultivated and appreciated in Sant'Antioco and Sulcis, where it represents a typical product of the local agricultural and gastronomic tradition.
