The Arrubìa almond tree takes its name from the characteristic red color of the hull; in fact, arrubia in Campidanese Sardinian means “red.” Its cultivation is documented as early as 1929 in the Italian Agricultural Cadastre, particularly in the province of Cagliari, bearing witness to the area’s long-standing agricultural tradition.
